the encouragement project #7 {siblings and/or faux siblings}

I took a break from the encouragement project last week- it was too crazy to even describe (but I tried here!) and now we’re back. Can’t say things aren’t still crazy but I need a routine, ya know? Update on baby girl: we started her on Zantac on Monday evening. Things have been better, but not perfect. Please continue to pray for her! {and us- I’m about tired of doing laundry!}

Anyway, I wanted to do a bit of a different type of encouragement post this week, where I actually encourage the people I’m speaking of right here on my blog! I’ve done this once before with my pastor {who also happens to be my hubby!} a few months ago, and it was fun. 🙂

I have three siblings that I love so much. One sister, Lindsey and two brothers Bradley, and Caleb. We are kinda spread out now over the great state of Texas but I love spending time with them when I can. My sister’s birthday was Saturday and I had intended on writing a post for her that day but I was s.i.c.k. most of the day and then attended a wedding that night, so needless to say, I didn’t get to it. Sorry, sis!

I also know that many of you don’t have siblings, but have other special people in your lives who function as “faux” siblings. I also have a few of those here in Houston since I live a few hours away from all my siblings. These are the people that love you unconditionally, help you out in a pinch, and give you the truth!

So why not encourage them, as well as your biological siblings if you have them, and let you know how much they mean to you?

So without further ado, what I love about my siblings! Hope I don’t embarrass them too much. 🙂

My sis

At the rodeo. 🙂

1.)  She is on of the best people I know. Period.
2.) She always takes time to check on me.
3.) She is an amazing aunt to my kids!
4.) She reminds me how to be a good wife. 🙂
5.) She measures her actions against Scripture.

My “big” little brother- {16 months younger than me}
Couldn’t find a pic with him- will have to remedy this soon. 🙂

1.) He is an amazing journalist
2.) He has a quirky sense of humor
3.) He is not afraid to put Photobooth pictures of himself on the web. 🙂
4.) He loves his little dog Niki so much it’s cute!
5.) He is a fun uncle to his nieces and nephews.

My “little” little brother {16 years younger than me, and is now taller than me!}

Caleb w/ our babe last year.

1.) He is a wonderful artist, albeit his weird drawings. 🙂
2.) He is a very thoughtful gift-giver.
3.) He rocks, and I mean rocks, at Guitar Hero.
4.) He knows more about mechanics and cow raising than most grown men.
5.) He is a great uncle to his two nieces and two nephews.

I love you, my siblings!

On a side note, apparently I don’t know how to work linkies, so if you’d like to share your encouraging post this week, please leave a link in the comments. Have a great rest of the week!
