Read: {Heaven is For Real}

So you know a book is good when you can’t put it down.
I started Heaven is for Real on a little road trip we took this weekend, and
I finished it before we arrived at our destination.

Between handing out snacks to the kiddos and giving hubby directions, my nose was pretty much buried between these pages for three solid hours.

I have read Don Piper’s 90 Minutes In Heaven, which I also enjoyed and quite honestly believed this would be a replay of that book. Not so.

This book is written by the dad of a boy named Colton Burpo, who went to Heaven for just a few minutes during a life-saving surgery.  Then-almost-four-years-old, his perspective is so beautiful.

He gives details of Heaven that he would not have otherwise known, such as Jesus sits at the right hand of God.

My very favorite part of the book is when Colton tells his mom and dad that he has two sisters. Well, he only had one sister, Cassie. Unbeknownst to him, (at least before he went to Heaven) his mother had a miscarriage. He met this little girl in Heaven. That chapter of the book made me so happy- all of my friends who have lost children, and even my own mother, will for sure be seeing their babies in Heaven. I have two siblings I’ve never met waiting on me!

I am sure there are skeptics of this book, but the word of God tells us to have faith like a child. I believe Colton sets a worth example for us of this kind of faith.

I love this verse:

The LORD protects those of childlike faith; I was facing death, and he saved me.- Psalm 116:6
