A Few of my Christmas Favorites- Part 1

It’s so hard to believe that Christmas is a mere 22 days away! {Especially when it hit 87 degrees yesterday in Houston! That is crazy!} The next few days I want to share some of our favorite Christmas traditions, as well as a few gift ideas that will support small businesses.

We have been talking to our kids A LOT about the true meaning of Christmas. We are trying really hard to not over-consumerize the holiday, yet still have lots of fun and traditions. It is an exciting event, after all! For the last three years, we have done an Advent Calendar with a different Christmas-themed activity every day from December 1-24. This year we are incorporating Scripture reading into each day as well. It is so exciting to have our 7 year old read the verses aloud to us!

We also love sending out Christmas cards each year to show how much the kids have grown. (and if we’ve added a child that year!) Speaking of Christmas cards, I LOVE these by Red Letter Paper Company. I had the opportunity to review a few of them~ they are very high quality and so fun. Stephanie, the designer, is a sweet gal who just wanted to create Christ-centered, yet cool Christmas cards. I think she hit her mark!

Check out this one that uses Twitter language- love it!

I love this one as well- sort of a ransom-note look.
The packaging is also beautiful:

Check out Stephanie’s website here– she has lots of beautiful products, and her creativity isn’t limited to Christmas cards. You can also find RLPco on Facebook and of course, Twitter!
