Where I’ve Been

First of all, let me say thanks to all of you who prayed for my friend’s baby on Saturday. She seems to be doing a bit better as of last night, but still desperately needs a new liver. Please continue to pray for this family.

I mentioned last week I’d been on a women’s retreat (w/ Canaan) last weekend, but what I didn’t say was that my family met me in Colorado on Monday and we’ve been enjoying a family vacation! (yes, if you did the math, my husband flew with 3 kids solo. He’s a trooper!) We get home today and although I’m somewhat ready, this has been the best vacation we’ve had. It’s been the perfect mix of rest and fun activities. As Texas people, snow is not usually in our vocabulary so we were really excited to show our kids “real” snow for the first time ever!

They met me at my cousin’s house in Denver, and the snow did not disappoint. It was snowing as they flew in, and snowed several inches before we headed out for our destination.

We vacationed in the town where Ben and I honeymooned 11 years ago. I’ll do a post later with pics of the honeymoon, but for now, enjoy these!

These were taken right behind our cabin. A few days before we left, these rocks got covered in snow!

We had our first time ever sledding and it was so.much.fun!

The park ranger apologized several times before we entered that “there wasn’t much snow.” What she didn’t know is that our city shuts down if even a few flakes fall from the sky, so um, 3 feet is plenty of snow!

This guy was right in front of our cabin the day it snowed. A few of the men in my family were a little excited!

Little man loved it outside. In fact, he got very upset if he got too hot!
There will be more pics to come, but I couldn’t wait to share these. I’m sure Houston will be  a cool 80 degrees when we get home, so I’m going to have to look at these photos often!
