Why Amazon Prime Makes a Great Gift + Pins of the Week Party

I am an affiliate for Amazon and these are my affiliate links. However, I am a paying member of Amazon Prime and all these glowing opinions are my own. 🙂

Hi there and happy Friday! I cannot believe how fast December is flying by. If you’ve still got a special someone you need a gift for, Amazon Prime makes a perfect gift for someone that “has everything.” Here are a few reasons why we love it, despite its $99 annual price tag. ($49 for students, hooray!)

why amazon prime makes a great gift!

1.) Free books for Kindle.

This is by far one of my favorite features of Amazon Prime. Every month, they offer 4 pre-release Kindle books for Prime subscribers. Members can choose one and download it for absolutely free- and keep it! While most of them aren’t authors you’ve heard of, I’ve really been able to read some excellent books through this avenue.

Prime also has a borrowing feature where you can also borrow one book each month, and these ARE from renowned authors.  (Oh, and if you don’t have a kindle, you can get the Kindle reading app on most devices.)

value: minimum of $4/month, but usually more

3.) Free 2 day shipping.

How many times have you needed something last minute and had no time to get to the store? I’m raising my hand over here! Birthday gifts, Christmas gifts, diapers, whatever! Prime members receive free 2-day shipping on the bulk of Amazon items. (Just be sure you see the “Prime” symbol beside the item to ensure it is 2 day shipping.)

value: depends on how often your recipient orders. One of the greatest values I’ve found in this feature is that I don’t have to spend the $25 minimum for Amazon’s free “super saver” shipping. (which also usually takes 5-7 days)

4.) Amazon Instant Stream Video

Sort of like a mini-netflix, Amazon’s Instant Stream video is a perk of Amazon. I’ll have to say it’s the one benefit we don’t use a ton, but we do use it occasionally. (Oh, and I just checked and Seasons 1-4 of Downton Abbey are now available for free streaming. That makes it worth the membership price alone ; )

value: depends on how much you watch TV, but if you forgo Netflix for a year, it would save $120!

5.) You can still get it! Today! (without leaving your house!)

No need to rush out to the store, just click here to buy a one-year membership to Amazon Prime.

value= priceless

5.) It doesn’t add clutter

Now, whatever your Amazon Prime gift receipient chooses to order might add clutter to his or her home, BUT the initial gift takes up zero room. And that my friends, is priceless!
