Spicy Christmas Crackers

Hi guys and welcome back to 25 Days of All Things Christmas! I hope you enjoy this delicious Christmas appetizer- it’s super easy and I always leave with an empty bowl!

25 days of all things Christmas

Tangy.. spicy.. crunch... this snack has it all! Christmas food is so fun! eatprayreadlove.com(originally posted 12.14.2012 I’m not nursing any babies right now 😉 ) Oh, how I love Christmas food! I have been wanting to post a recipe all week, but between nursing, changing diapers, homeschooling, managing general chaos with 4 kids, church activities, Christmas shopping, nursing some more and changing even more diapers (my 2 year old is still in diapers in addition to the 3 week old!) it hasn’t happened. Our gals at church have been cooking for me since I had the baby so I haven’t even been in the kitchen much, but I have made a few Christmas goodies.

I will post the recipe for caramel popcorn next week- which is probably my favorite “special occasion” goodie, but I burnt the first batch I made (oops) so I don’t have good pics yet!

Anyway, this is another one of my favorites, and it is oh-so-hard. Just kidding. See the first paragraph- I’m not cooking anything difficult right now!

I got this recipe from my aunt and it’s only 4 ingredients, and basically one step.

Here’s what you need:

Christmas Crackers

A box of saltine crackers
1 pkg of ranch dressing mix (the dry powder)
1 cup oil (suck in while you pour it, it will make you feel better!)
1 tbs. crushed red pepper (or more, depending on how hot you like it!)
Mix the dressing mix, oil and red pepper with a whisk. Pour over crackers in a large container (I use a really big tupperware) with a  lid.
Turn over several times. Let sit for several hours, turning every 30 minutes or so. Enjoy!
