Grilled Cheese Recipe Extravaganza

A few weeks ago, I got a grand idea. I mean, it seems grand to me! Why not come up with a different grilled cheese recipe for each week of the summer? I’m already doing a Summer Scripture Memory Series this summer too, so why not feed the body as well as the soul?

I have a few guest bloggers lined up (if you’d like to be one of those, shoot me an e-mail!) to share recipes with you as well. Hopefully this will get your creative juices flowing, too.

A delicious update to the traditional grilled cheese recipe!

We came home from vacation this weekend and my rosemary plant is doing so well, thanks to good friends who kept our garden watered and fertilized. 🙂 I decided to incorporate that into the grilled cheese- it’s one of my favorite herbs- right up there with basil!

This recipe is way easy- as any grilled cheese recipe should be.

Here’s what I did: slice some ciabatta bread in half. Add a slice of provolone (I had to tear mine in half), then sprinkle about a 1/2 TBS of fresh rosemary over the cheese. Then sprinkle a dash of coarse sea salt over the rosemary. Add another slice of provolone (halved), then cover with the top of the ciabatta. Grill in an iron skillet with butter (mine may or may not have had a bit of leftover bacon drippings in it as well) until golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Enjoy!
