Happy Birthday to my Man {Recipe for Buttermilk Pie}

My hubby’s 35th birthday was Sunday, and he had mentioned off-handedly that he would like a buttermilk pie. I knew that his sweet granny had a recipe for it in an old church cookbook, so this weekend while he was away hunting with “the boys,” I made one for him.
{What he didn’t know was I was cooking up a ton of desserts (chocolate chip-coconut cookies, Smore’s pie, mini cheesecakes) for his surprise party- at which he was actually surprised! So happy!}

Anyway, the pie seemed to be a hit at the party and a few people wanted the recipe,
so here it is!
Another thing: it’s super simple! Win/win.

Buttermilk Pie

1 1/3 c. sugar
3 eggs, beaten
1 stick melted butter
4 T. flour
3/4 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 unbaked pie crust

Mix flour and sugar together and add to beaten eggs. Then add melted butter, vanilla and buttermilk. Mix well. Pour into unbaked pie crust and put in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes, or until set.

Enjoy!

This was on our date on Ben’s birthday.
Went to Chuy’s for a late lunch- yum!
Then to Barnes and Noble to use our 50% off coupons- Ben got two books for his b-day,
then to the park to read. A fun day!
