How to Add a Personalized Message to your Feedburner E-mails and RSS feed

Howdy! Hope you’re having a wonderful week. Today’s post probably won’t interest you if you’re not a blogger, so feel free to skip it and perhaps read an older one like this recipe or this post on encouragement.

For those of you still with me (hi!) I’m going to share how to add a personalized message to your Feedburner e-mails and RSS that Feedburner sends out automatically from your blog.

My friend Abbie and I were going back and forth this week trying to figure it out- I had done it in the past but couldn’t remember how. She figured out one way to do it, but it wasn’t exactly what she wanted. I finally was able to figure it out last night. I figured if it took the two of us two days to figure it out, and we’ve both been blogging for almost three years now, we couldn’t be the only ones wondering!

Anyway, this information will come in handy if you want to add in a link to a free goody (like the 3 free scripture printables you’ll get from me if you subscribe!) to entice readers to subscribe to your blog by e-mail. And it’s actually very simple- it’s just buried deeply in Feedburner’s menus!

Here’s what you do:image

1.) Sign in to Feedburner
2.) Select which feed you want to edit
3.) Choose the “optimize feed” tab
4.) Under “Services” on the left side, click “Browser Friendly”
5.) Under “Content options,” enable the personal message tab. You’ll be able to add in whatever text you choose here, including links.

That’s it! This way, you’re able to add in a personal message that will go out to all of your subscribers, and you can change it as often as you like.

Speaking of… I’ll be changing my free scripture printables soon, so if you haven’t yet printed the current ones, you might want to do that soon! And if you’re not a subscriber, here’s your chance! Just click the banner below!
