How to Care for Guests in Your Home

Thank you El Pollo Loco for sponsoring today’s post. All opinions are my own.

Hi there! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are gearing up for 2015. (How can that be??) In case any of you still have house guests around, or more coming for New Years’ Eve, here are a few tips on how to care for guests in your home and make them feel welcomed and loved! (PS We LOVE having people in our home!)

How to care for guests in your home

1.) Take them to do something unique to your area

Is your city known for a fabulous park, a world-famous zoo, or even something unique like touring a Civil War-era home? Your guests would probably love to experience it! And if you’re like lots of people, maybe you haven’t even experienced that particular attraction- so get out and do it!

2.) Find out their favorite breakfast foods/coffee/etc. and stock up

If there’s one thing that makes my hubby feel home-away-from-home, it’s having good coffee available, as well as his beloved half-and-half. Maybe for your guest it’s tea or something else. Having their favorites around first thing in the morning is sure to set the day off on the right foot.

3.) Let someone else do the cooking for lunch or dinner

Now many of you are probably tired of cooking after the Thanksgiving-holiday party-Christmas dinner marathon. So why not pick up some yummy take out? El Pollo Loco is a perfect option for your visitors because along with their regular menu items, they have delicious options for Gluten Free, Whole30, Paleo, and Vegetarian, South Beach/Atkins eating plans. Whether it’s one of their delicious salads if you’re dieting, or …..

… the chicken avocado burrito if you want something heartier. (this thing is seriously one of the best things I’ve eaten in a fast food restaurant, EVER.)

Whatever you do, do NOT forget the churros for dessert, whether you’re dieting or not. Your guests will love you forever. 🙂

4.) Leave them a few goodies by their bedside

Chapstick and lotion are a few favorites, and maybe even a chocolate or two? It’s fun little things that will make their stay with you memorable!

5.) Have fun with them

All of the above ideas will make a visit to your home extra special, but your guests are coming to see YOU. So relax and enjoy yourself. If you’re uptight about having the perfect meal or that your house is perfectly clean, the visit will be wasted by worry!
