How to Make a Disposable Razor Last a Month (or more!)

Learn the secret of how to make a disposable razor last last a month- or more! You won't believe how easy it is!

A few months ago, I was getting really frustrated at spending tons of money on razors, and they didn’t last very long at that! I asked on Facebook (it’s the free opinion poll, y’all!) where people bought their razors and/or blades. One of my blogging friends, Lisa, mentioned how to make a disposable razor last by this one special trick. (She has 10 kids so pretty much any advice she gives, I’m listening!)

I hopped over to her blog to see, and was surprised at her answer- don’t keep the razor in the shower! It’s actually the moisture that makes a razor to bad so quickly, not the the actual usage! And those smart, sneaky razor companies make special tools so that you hang your razor in the shower, therefore making it go dull more quickly! Cha-ching for them, bad for us!

So each time after I shave, I wipe down the blade with a dry towel, (going in the same direction as the blade to avoid cutting my finger) put the blade cover back on, then keep it on the counter instead of in the shower.

I used the same razor on our sabbatical for a month- and it was just a cheap one from Aldi. (That I happened to like very much, I will be buying these again! ) *disclaimer: I do NOT shave every day. I’d say I used this particular razor 3 times per week.

So there ya have it! Keep the razor away from moisture, and save some cash on replacements!
