letting kids be free

all free clear

There are as many parenting styles as there are parents out there, and we definitely fall in the “let them work on figuring things out on their own” category. I love watching the wheels turn as they try to figure out something, and then their smiles of delight as it happens! (Or sometimes, their frustration as they can’t quite do it yet!)

We love to let our kids roam around in the backyard (we specifically chose one of the largest lots in our neighborhood so they could play) and get dirty. They spend tons of time out there, especially now that the weather has been so nice.

Here they are with some of their cousins gettin’ dirty at a park!

Their favorite things right now are playing on the trampoline and playing in their fort that Ben built. They are currently furnishing it with old items from our house and Dollar Tree finds that they’re funding on their own. It’s fun watching their imaginations run wild and make plans to “live in the fort.”

One downside of them playing outside constantly is the hordes of laundry it produces. Everything is muddy from their socks to the blankets they drag out there. That’s why I love all free clear so much- I just throw the laundry in and forget about it. I love that they now carry not only laundry detergent, but also fabric softener! Our kids’ skin is just a little on the sensitive side so it’s nice to not have to worry about our detergent bothering their skin.  (It’s the #1 detergent recommended by pediatricians for kids with sensitive skin!)

Laundry will probably never be my favorite chore, but at least it can be simplified with all free clear! (You can see more of my laundry tips here.)
