“Come unto Me” Summer Scripture Memory- Week 6!

Wow, this summer is flying by. Our kids don’t go back to school until August 28, so I’m thankful for a little extra time with them! We’ve homeschooled the last 4 years but this year we’re trying something new- a 3-day-a-week school they attend away from home, then 2 days here. I’m excited about this and hopefully the kids will get that way. 🙂

Anyway, we’re here at week 6 of Summer Scripture Memory  and I’m especially thankful for the promise of this verse. In fact, I chose it this morning after the night I had last night. I posted about it on my Facebook page– here’s the screenshot if you missed it:

All this was on the tail-end of our already illness-laden weekend. The symptoms of the allergic reaction are gone, but gosh darn my finger hurts! It hurts to type so I won’t be long here.

Anyway, as I was drifting back to sleep this morning, knowing I missed a 3-hour chunk of my rest for the night, I knew today would be hard. Much grace-giving would be necessary- both me to my kids and vice versa. This verse- Matthew 11:28- popped into my head. His invitation to “come unto me” has been very sweet. And Christ has sustained me today. It’s 1:30 in the afternoon and I’ve actually had a productive day so far. (I am about to take a nap, though!)

The kids and I practiced this verse while we were eating lunch and I got to explain its meaning to them. I’ve loved doing the Summer Scripture Memory Series if for no other reason than getting to talk to my kids about the Bible!

Ah this promise is resonating for sure today! "Come unto me." Week 6 of the Summer Scripture Memory Series

This weeks activity: listen to this song by Anointed. It’s old but I love it! My college roommate and I used to listen to it a lot!
