Ways to Announce Your Pregnancy to your Spouse

One of the most fun things I’ve enjoyed over the years is telling Ben that we are pregnant. (And no, this is not an announcement 🙂 )Each of the 4 times, I took the test by myself and then came up with a fun way to share with Ben.

fun ways to tell your spouse we're pregnant

With our first, we were on a little vacation in Hot Springs, Arkansas. I took the test, and maaaaybe gave Ben a little white lie about the results. I wanted it to be special when I told him. We went to the store on our way to driving to the top of a mountain. I ran in by myself, racing around looking for something that would help me break the amazing news. My heart was pounding in my chest the whole time! I finally settled on buying a package of diapers- they would convey my message and be useful nine months later as well!

I put the package of diapers in a gift bag along with a card, then when we arrived at the top of the mountain I gave it to Ben. I was able to capture his face as he opened the bag- it was priceless. We were both just overjoyed and excited and happy- it had been a long time coming!

With our last one (so far!) I did this to tell him:

Yes, I found out I was pregnant on Easter morning and quickly threw together a basket for Ben. I made him open this egg last. 😉 It was just as exciting the 4th time as it was the 1st!

My friend Lani at Life Anchored said when she found out she was pregnant, she ran in the bedroom, where her husband was still sleeping, and started jumping on the bed. I’m sure that was a fun way to wake up!

Be sure to check out my post aboutwhen the pregnancy test says “no.”  Also check out conceiving with PCOS (which I have). Among other tips, in this post I recommend trying out Astroglide TTC for help with conception. I’m hoping that with the help of Astroglide TTC, we’ll be able to announce that we’re pregnant again before too long. 😉

I would love to hear your ideas on how to tell your spouse you’re pregnant! Hopefully I’ll be able to incorporate one more idea. 😉
