lovely ladies// blogger meet up

I’ve said this before, but one of the things I love about blogging is getting to “meet” other gals who are so encouraging, love the Lord, and are fabulous bloggers to boot. Well, this past Friday, I got to actually meet, in real life, two ladies I’ve met through blogging, and also catch up with a friend who is also now a blogger.

What better way to meet than over delicious Tex-Mex? (And all the Texans said, “Amen.”) We met at Chuy’s (creamy jalapeño, anyone? I’m quite sure we put away a gallon of it!) and talked and laughed for over two hours. I’d love for you to “meet” these ladies, too- check out their blogs by click on their names!

Amanda, who designed my blog, is so precious. Her love for Jesus is very evident in her writing, and that love shows in her conversation as well! Check out her Desire to Inspire posts each Thursday- it’s one of the best series I’ve been a part of and read.

Skye is a fun-loving gal that is totally down-to-earth and so friendly. She is expecting her first baby in July (yay!). We got to meet her hubby too, who was great entertainment for the meal! He’s a youth minister- so that makes Skye a youth minister’s wife (obviously!). I spent the first 6 1/2 years of our marriage as a youth minister’s wife so I definitely felt a connection to her.

I have known Abbie for a very long time- as in, since were about 11ish. Her blog is rockin’ as she talks about life with 5 kids, DIY projects galore, and her faith. She has an Evy also- just spelled differently from our Evie. Evy has a twin named Nola, and Canaan got to meet them both!

(I hate we didn’t get a picture of everyone- imagine a table with four ladies, one man, and three infant carriers. I’m sure our waiter thought we were quite the bizarre group!)

It truly amazes me each time I meet another Christ-follower how there is an instant connection and familiarity. Have you ever met a blogger friend in real life?

On another note, if you get a chance, please pray for my family. We just found out my Papa has cancer and it’s pretty advanced. We got to enjoy lots of time with him this weekend and look forward to seeing him again soon.

  1. how fun that you got to meet some bloggers! I actually met Amanda at Influence. Love her. she is so sweet and sincere!! Obviously I met quite a few bloggers there. haha, but I also met Christina from Tico & Tina over the summer, her family stayed at our house a few days…and Alyson from Vintage Sunshine just moved to my city, so we hung out once too =) I do love the instant connection when meeting other bloggers who love Jesus. So much fun seeing the immediate unity!

  2. yay! this was SO much fun!! i hope your Papa does well – Chris and I will certainly be praying for him. 🙂
