Spring Potting Party with Toddlers!

A few weeks ago, I hosted a little get together with a few of our friends. I wanted it to be a relaxing time for the moms but also have one structured activity for the kiddos. I settled on a Spring Potting Party– each toddler and their older siblings got to take home a flower!

(Thank you Gerber for sponsoring our party! All ideas and opinions are my own.)

The first thing I did was spend a little time shopping to get some fun decorations. I knew that, weather permitting, we’d host the time outside. (Planting flowers with toddlers inside doesn’t sound fun at all!)

Thankfully, the weather turned out perfect!

My daughter Allie, ever the party planner, helped me get everything just right. I can’t wait to see how this girl uses her talents the older she gets!

I picked up a few extra spring- themed buckets and 9-packs of flowers for the potting party. Toddlers love getting a little dirty! The little ones, of course, required a little help…gerber …but the older siblings planted the flowers alone. It was so fun watching them!

I made key lime cookies and lemon bars in keeping with the spring pastel theme, and for the toddlers I picked up some brand new Gerber Lil’ Beanies at Wal-Mart. I loved having a healthier snack option (they have 2g of protein + 1g of fiber per serving, plus no preservatives!) and the little ones loved them!lil beanies 1 This little guy loved them so much, he helped himself to the whole can! It was too cute. I wish lil’ Beanies had been around when my older ones were toddlers!lil beanies

I really love any reason to get together with my people, and our new outdoor space has made it even more fun. Something about sitting under 100 year old oak trees is so relaxing!lil beanies 4 What is your idea of a perfect spring gathering? I really enjoyed the spring potting party and think I will make it an annual tradition!lil beanies 6
