do you have $1 (or 5) to share?

my closet before

SO today is the day! The end of The Closet Project. This project has been great in so many ways. I’ve seen many women clean out their closets and either sell or donate their clothes. It has made me aware of how selfish I can be when it comes to my belongings, but how freeing letting go of the clothes (and the selfishness) can be. We donated well over 200 items with another 100 to still donate. At least 50 items in are in consignment stores for sale.

BUT.
My goal was to raise $500 for Redeemed Ministries. For a short recap, this wonderful ministry helps women get back on their feet after being rescued from a life of enslavement in human trafficking.

another before pic- yuck!

I’ve only had $94 reported and I KNOW that more of you have sold your clothes because you’ve told me! 😉

at one of four consignment stores.
Thanks to my friend Hannah for her immense help and taking the photo!

If you could, either fill out this form (it can be anonymous!) or e-mail me to let me know how much you were able to donate to Redeemed, (click here to donate directly) or another anti-human trafficking organization.

If you didn’t get a chance to clean out your closets, would you consider donating to Redeemed anyway? Maybe give up your coffee or lunch out for the day?

I would LOVE for my readers to bless these rescued women in this way.
(your donations go directly to the housing, medical care, transportation needs, etc of rescued women)

the empty hangers- and this was after I’d used a lot to take clothes to the consignment store

Between Google Friend Connect and e-mail subscription, I have close to 800 readers. I know that not that many read my blog every day, but if even 100 of you could donate a few bucks, we could reach the goal!

my now stream-lined (and color-organized!) wardrobe
I had hoped to paint my closet but with organizing the hundreds of donated items and packing 6 people for our family’s ten day vacation, that didn’t happen 🙂

Thank you dear friends, I’ve so enjoyed this journey with you!

Comments

  1. I had just donated baskets of clothes to the salvation army the weekend before you started this. You are so amazing, Kellie!!

  2. Have time to come do mine now? LOVE it! I am impressed.

  3. Well, I’m a procrastinator and haven’t cleaned out my closet yet… Plus I have a little doubt my clothes would fetch anything. Can you tell me which consignment store you had the best luck at?
