very first eat.pray{read}love giveaway- my birthday, you win!

Today is my birthday! I love birthdays, and my family and friends have done an excellent job of making it a special time for sure.

Especially this card my six year old son made for me.

I mean, who doesn’t want to be loved more than
“that strae (stray) cat meme (my mom) has”?
That, my friends, is the pinnacle of love! 😉

One thing that makes me really happy is sharing things I love.
So what better way to celebrate my new blog {a birthday present from my hubby!}
and my birthday than to give away a few of my favorite things?
To make it even more fun, I added a prize into the bundle from each category of my blog.
Ready to see what I chose?

eat.
Although most posts with title “eat” on this blog will correspond to cooking,
who doesn’t like (discounted) eating out?
The first prize in this giveaway is $25 Restaurant.com gift card.
We have used these many times and they save a ton of money!
And you want to know another little hint? I use Swagbucks for all of my searching, which leads to accruing swagbucks, and I can “buy” these babies using my points, when they usually cost from $4-$10. Love it! Click here if you don’t already have Swagbucks to start earning your own!

*Note, the “gift card” will actually come as a code through e-mail, and you can then print out the certificate. In all cases, you must spend at least an additional $10 on the meal, plus tax and tip. Still a great deal, just a little disclaimer!

pray.
When I saw this Bible at Half-Price books, I knew it was going in the bundle!
It’s a journaling Bible- there is one empty page for every.single.page of the Bible
for notetaking. Isn’t that awesome! I may or may not have to get my own.
The thought of taking notes during my hubby’s sermons and never losing them is very appealing to me!
Oh, and have you heard my hubby preach? If not, here is a shameless plug for him.
He is an amazing, compassionate pastor and has free podcasts of his sermons each week.
Click here to go to them!

I read this book exactly one year ago- my mom got it for me for my birthday last year. I can’t even describe it. It is so good, and eye-opening, and honest, I just wanted to share it with one of you! I would really love to share it with all of you, but there’s that pesky affair called finances that gets in the way. If you don’t win the giveaway and have the funds, I highly encourage you to buy it if you get a chance. It is a book you’ll want to underline and highlight. Check at used book stores (although I look every.single.time. I go into Half-Price books for it and have never seen it!) or buy it on Amazon or Christian Book Distributors.  Check with your library if you don’t have the means to get it right now. I think you get the idea I like this book!

love.

It was hard for me to decide what I wanted for this category, but in the end I decided to throw in a fun little package of note cards. Writing notes of encouragement is one of my very favorite ways to show love. So few people actually “write” anything anymore so it will be fun to surprise people in your life with these.
And think outside of the box- your kids’ teachers, co-workers, church staff, your regular Starbucks barrista, the waiter that always waits on you, anyone!

Okay, now it’s time to enter! You get lots of chances to win. This is my first time using Rafflecopter, so if you have any trouble at all, please e-mail me. And good luck! Going to find something sweet now… Hey, it’s my birthday!
I hate even saying this, but please note, that if you say you did an entry and did not actually do it, your entry for that action will be removed. thanks!

  1. My favorite birthday memory was when Josh saved up some extra money and surprised me with an overnight shopping trip. I had no idea what we were doing until we arrived at our destination.

  2. I just have to say it again….. your exuberance is showing with your new blog – how wonderful. And happy birthday.

    ~Bliss~

  3. Happy Birthday Kelli! I hope your day is as sweet and wonderful as you, many blessings for you this year!

  4. Happy Birthday Kelli!
I can honestly say I can’t remember anything special about past birthdays. But I do remember when I turned 21, which of course was yesterday 😛 My entire family and my best friend took me to Olive Garden. It was the first time I had alcohol in front of my parents 🙂

  5. That sounds like a perfect birthday! 🙂

  6. Thank you so much Bliss! Now you should enter my giveaway. 🙂

  7. Thanks Ange! I hope you get a chance to enter my giveaway! I am excited about it.

  8. Thanks Jen. So what did your parents think about that? 😉

Happy Birthday to you!! I can remember several wonderful memories, but the one that came to mind was my 18th. I adored children and had every party was full of children and family. So I had a party for all the children, and my fav part was when they surrounded me and helped me blow out my candles. It’s such a sweet memory.

  10. Katy Hornbeck says

Happy Birthday! When I was working summer camp during college my parents sent me a birthday in box with everything I’d need to have a fun little party. It was a fun way to get to celebrate despite being far from my family.

  11. Happy birthday! My favorite birthday memory was this year when a friend baked not just one, but 2 cakes to surprise me at a large group meeting on my birthday!

  12. Shelly smith says

So glad I found you through Money Saving Mom! My favorite birthday memory is from my childhood, and I received a puppy from my parents (I had been yearning for one for soooo long! All of my 8 long years, LOL!)

  13. My favorite BD memory is traveling to FL from WI in February and water-skiing. My uncle, who patiently drove the boat, thought I was crazy; however, the water was about the same temp as WI lakes in July. I was about 12.

  14. This is Karen again. I am using the same email as on FB, but I choose to be friendless there and am using a psuedonym for the social media. Just to clarify any confusion…

  15. My fave is two years ago when my husband and my 2 best friends put on a huge surprize for me!

  16. My favorite birthday memory is when my best friends kidnapped and blindfolded me, took me to my best friends house where a brand new dress in my size was laying on her bed, and took me out for dinner and dessert!

  17. My favorite Birthday was spending it on a cruise with my family! Awesome memories!

  27. Thank you Nicole!

  28. Paula Chaffin says

Just this past year when my family and best friends celebrated my 50th birthday with dinner and breakfast the next morning.

  29. Having homemade peach icecream every year.

  30. When I turned 30, my husband and I ordered a cake for my birthday. The lady behind the counter asked what I wanted written on it, and I told her to put “Happy 29th”. We had a good laugh about it, and I order a cake the same way every year now. I will be 35 this year 😉

  31. A last minute birthday party my sister had for me when I was a kid. She had ALL the neighborhood kids come over & it was so fun.

  32. So many good birthdays! I’ll share the most recent (my 30th)….last year I celebrated as a new mom with my husband and 5 week old baby boy. That morning I walked downstairs to find an enormous box with a big purple bow on top. An electric piano that I had been wanting for years! Then my husband took me to one of my favorite restaurants, Fogo de Chao. I’m a big meat lover so that place makes me happy 🙂

  33. Kristinia Reynolds says

Favorite Birthday memories are always my children’s! I’m actually celebrating my youngest sons “1st” birthday this Sunday.
